Another important part of Texas Hold'Em is learning how to bluff. Bluffing tries to confuse your opponents by making them believe you have better or worse hands than the one you are holding.

Bluffing is a favorite of novice players in Texas Hold'Em. But they sometimes fall prey to their own strategies. This is because there is always a risk of the opponents not falling for the bluff.

The bluff's value increases under different circumstances. One Circumstance is that you have been able to read the playing pattern of your opponent in Texas Hold'Em. For example your opponent folds easily. When they fold easily you may bluff them out.

The decision to bluff is really up to the player of Texas Hold'Em. Here are some typical reasons when to bluff on Texas Hold'Em.

I. It is easier to fool a fewer people than larger groups. So it is a good time to bluff when the players at the Texas Hold'Em table are few. The chances of the hand being a good one also increases when there are fewer players. However bluffing in this situation is quite common. This makes bluffing in this situation less believable by others. There will be some players to call your bluff and make it expensive for you. So it is important to know more about the pattern your opponent plays.

II. Players that easily fold are the best targets of a bluff. When they bet, it only means they have a good hand. When you bluff before the flop against a tight player and they continue to bet you may want to reconsider staying in as there is a strong chance the cards they are holding are good ones.

III. It is dangerous to bluff when you are in a late position and all the players have checked. You may only get away with a few players. Bluffing in this situation will also be expensive.

IV. A risky bluff in Texas Hold'Em is one done before the flop but you did not catch what you need.

V. If the other Texas Hold'Em players read you as a strong player they are more likely to fall for your bluff when you play your hands well. The trick here is to make opponents think that you are doing the same move like the one you did with your last hand. It will make them think "not again."
